Welcome to the Manifestation Blog everyone. If you are you are here you have a voice. Let's get started. I want to hear from you.
Make a posting describing why you chose to work on the particular Article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights you selected. What is the source of your outrage if you have it? If you continue to feel indifferent about human rights, can you explain that also?

ReplyDeleteI chose article 12 because of a few incidents I have encountered overseas, where I felt my privacy was invaded
ReplyDeleteI chose article 16 about freedom to marry whoever you want. I chose this right because of obstacles ive been faced with in my relationship with my boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteI chose Article 25 because of the living conditions I have faced growing up as a young boy. I feel everyone should be entitled to a stable living condition, even if it is not much.
ReplyDeleteI have chosen Human Rights # 25 because of experiences I have encountered in my life and have had to overcome. Often times people in America take this basis human right for granted. For the 1% this basis right might not be such a concern to them, but for the 99% for which I feel I am a part of, this right is continuing to decline. Constantly you see on the news about health care rising or even non-exsisdent unless your willing to pay an outrageous price. Housing costs un-afforable for the minimal wage worker, talks of cutting certain benefits for our elderly while the rich don't even want to pay their fare share of taxes. I hope people continue to vote as I believe this is the way we can preserve and also fight to restore certain rights that have already been taken away through our own U.S. Government.
ReplyDeleteI have chosen Article 25 because I believe that food, shelter, clothing, access to health care, financial support for the unemployed, and special care/assistance to mothers who are raising children is crucial to creating a foundation for healthy lives. Without these bare necessities, human life is jeopardized and the quality of such a life that is deprived from food, shelter, health, and support is at a huge disadvantage. I have experienced and met many people in my life who struggle to obtain such necessities. I stand strong next to the belief that every human being deserves the stability of daily meals, shelter, well-being and peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteI chose Article 12 because I do not appreciate being forced to abandon my Human/Constitutional rights or coerced to comply to rules that threaten my privacy and be denied that are afforded to me as a law abiding Citizen. When Liberty is traded for Security you get neither ... I may have stole that last one:)
ReplyDeleteThe significance of article 25 has been a factor, which was unknowingly surrounding my entire life. When I read article twenty five I get a sense of a goal which at the present moment seem intangible. An adequate living standard for all individuals seems more like a dream rather than something society can comprehend to make happen. Once I had finished reading article twenty five I knew there was no other article I’d rather go more in depth upon. The reason the issue is so dominant in my mind because not only has my family faced the lack of adequacy but countless other I have encounter throughout my life. I had an admiration to talk to individuals who have made the journey to come from another country to the United States. At first the majority of individuals whom I encountered were Mexican, however, after getting a job at a restaurant I met many Portuguese and Brazilian immigrants who face the same inadequacy as I did growing up. Sadly the reason I am choosing article 25 is not because I believe there is an overall solution but because the issue at hand must be exposed. Many people I have talked to throughout my existence on this planet seem to believe that the right of people who weren’t born in the country doesn’t matter. Therefore not only think about certain citizens who were born in this country whose rights are being violated but as well as the other population. The population which does not appear on the US Census, but should still have the same adequacy of life as others.
ReplyDeleteI chose article 12
ReplyDeleteI chose article 12 because I believe that everyone has the right to privacy. No one has to give up his or her right to nobody. But everyday peoples privacy is being invaded by other people even by our own government.
ReplyDeleteI feel article 12 is important to me because it is an intimate right which allows people to keep personal information private. Although security may be necessary for safety issues, there are also many situations where security may feel more as an intrusion.
ReplyDeleteI decided to advocate article 25 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights because of the severity of the issues that it represents worldwide. Poverty is an extremely difficult problem we face as a species. Everyday people, humans, all over the world are experiencing inadequate living conditions. From the lack of food or water, to substandard housing, and poor to no medical care, these are enormous issues that need to be heard and taken care of. Though most of us who attend community college are not particularly wealthy, we're definitely privileged. And it's up to us, the privileged, to help those that are in need, those that live in areas stricken by poverty, so that they can, one day, have a better future.
